Public browsing

The public website does not require an account. Our web server processes requests, including your IP address, requested URL, timestamp and browser information, to deliver pages and operate the service. Server logs may be used for troubleshooting and security.

Browser storage

We save your colour-theme preference in localStorage under dwshells-site-theme. You can remove it by clearing this site’s browser data. Directory filters are stored in the page URL. The website loads Google AdSense on pages with designated banner placements. We also remember your language choice using a non-secret cookie and localStorage.

Website visitor counts

We record aggregate visits and page views to understand use of this website. Daily visitor estimates use temporary, daily hashes of your address and browser information. No visitor tracking cookie or persistent browser identifier is created. The traffic database stores only hashes and aggregate counts; temporary hashes are removed after up to two UTC days as new visits arrive. Shared networks, browser settings and blocked scripts can affect these estimates.

Activity statistics

Public activity figures are aggregate service totals. We do not publish account names, connection addresses or private monitoring records in the public statistics feed.

Contact and external services

If you email us, we receive the information you provide and use it to handle your enquiry. Provider links and the customer panel lead to separate services with their own data handling. This notice does not describe the signed-in panel.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense in labelled banner areas. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies, including information about previous visits to this and other websites, to serve, measure and personalise ads.
